About the Author

Authoress, Novelist, Writer, different names for the same thing. Either way, it's about me!

I'm Lindsey Nosek, and I'm currently a student at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. I've been writing InkDreams ever since my Junior or Senior year of High School. (Is it bad that I can't remember?)

I've been writing for years and years. Back in Elementary School, I loved writing the short story assignments, even if I did have restrictions on them. I loved writing poems as well. In middle school I first started trying to write actual novels. Haha, I thought it'd be easy. To this day, I've never finished an entire story or even written the end of one. My record is getting a third through with two-hundred-something pages. It was a story with potential, surely, but I just sort of got bored with it. And all of the other stories... Normally I don't get more than thirty pages in to be honest.

But not this one! I will definitely finish it! Eventually. Someday.

As I mentioned before, I also write poems (still). Last year I would crank out two or three a day. I felt like that James Patterson of poets! [You guys understand that, right? The man is a GOD, able to publish a book every other month or so.] Unfortunately, most of my poems are either in notebooks waiting for me to type them up, or with teachers whom I may not see for quite some time, and scattered around the internet. One day I'll create some sort of stable place for them. I mean, Google Docs, Facebook, SpringPad, and DeviantArt? I need to just put them all in one place. Probably my SpringPad..

Okay, things that aren't related to writing! I can normally be found either in class, bed, or glued to my Facebook games. Or something else on my laptop. I am a total nerd, so manga and anime are always on my list of activities. (For those of you who haven't read Fairy Tail, it's fantastic. I don't care if you don't like One Piece. At least try to watch the anime. [In Japanese of course. I hate dubs with a burning, fiery passion.]) Of course I love video games! SSX Tricky (yeah, the first one for XBox. Original XBox, if some of you remember what that is) is the one I'm working on right now, but I'm also trying to get through Assassin's Creed I.

Um.. favorite books... Inkheart is top of the list. Cornelia Funke is my all-time favorite author. Thief Lord is my second favorite. The two books tend to swap places because I just can't decide which one is better. I also love The Mediator series by Meg Cabot. Jennifer Government by Max Berry is also incredibly fantastic. (Thank you to Mr. Kasell for making us read it!!) And for those of you that like PodioBooks, look for Mike Bennett at mikebennettpodcast.com. He's a great Brittish author! Warning, he tends to be a little graphic/gory, and his work is for mature audiences only. Granted, I didn't listen to that at all because I've always believed I could read whatever I want. (I spoiled myself that way. I am incredibly lucky to have not scarred myself, and I suggest that any young readers who are reading this now DO NOT FOLLOW IN MY FOOTSTEPS.)

For those of you whom are wondering, I do not like the Twilight movies. Only the books. I was reading them wayyyyyyyyyyy before the movies came out, and even before everyone else in my middle school had started reading them. I don't like to brag, but I probably was one of the first ten/twenty people in my school to have read the book (and I started with New Moon because I hadn't yet heard of Twilight).

I guess music comes next. I have a really...diverse tastes. Rock, metal, very little rap, some pop, lots of country, J-Rock, J-Pop, K-pop (please don't hate me?), punk, punk rock, and then a crap-ton of European music. I love Eurovision (the show) with a passion, and while I didn't like 2011's results, I like everything that came before it! My top two favorite all-time, nothing is better than them in my mind, artists are 1: Coheed and Cambria, and 2: Darling Parade. After them I love (in no particular order) Anberlin, Gackt, Dir En Gray, LM.C, Hatsune Miku (and the other Vocaloids of course), Papa Roach, Evans Blue, Maroon Five, Lady Gaga, P!nk, and soooooo many other people. Not including the YouTube artists I follow like Tyler Ward and Sungha Jung.

And yeah... I don't really know what else there is for me to say about myself really.... I like long walks on the beach? (Just kidding, I don't like beaches....) If you have questions, I'd be more than happy to answer them! Send me an email or comment below and I will get back to you as soon as I possibly can!
